A compact yet durable radio, the NX-3320E2 built to IP54 rating, this ensures the radio has a full Ingres protection against dust whilst also being safeguarded against splashes of water from all angles. Supporting both MXDN and DMR digital protocols, the NX-3320E2 is capable of performing both mixed digital and FM analogue operation protocols. This model of the NX-3320 has a display and partial key pad, although other variations with a display and full keypad and one with just a simple black box design are available.

Packed full of features, the NX-3320E2 is designed with improved efficiency and worker safety in mind. 23 Programmable function keys allow for the customization of the radio to the users needs, with important functions being easily accessible when needed. Emergency functions such as a call function and key allow for fast response in specific situations, whilst a transmit interrupt allows for all ongoing communications to be interrupted when an important message needs to be portrayed.

The NX-3320E2 has both Lone Worker and Man Down functions, these helping to ensure worker safety through monitoring the activity levels and orientation of the radio, helping to notify other radio users should an issue occur. GPS can work in connection with these features, helping to quickly locate the operative having issues, also helping to improve efficiency of the workforce by monitoring regular routes and patterns. The Kenwood NX-3320E2 has a 7-colour light bar indicator on the top panel, flashing different colours to notify the user of incoming calls from differing channels.

Built to military standards (MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G) the radio is fit for purpose in a variety of environmental conditions, continuing to operate seamlessly from as low as -30°C through to 50°C. The NX-3320E2 is the Kenwood 2-Pin variant of this radio, with a 14-Pin connector also being available in the NX3300E2. The radio comes as standard with a KNB-55L 1480mAh Li-Ion battery, belt clip and antenna with the charger being available as a separate purchase.

Features Explained Digital Basic Privacy Basic Privacy uses a fixed "key" which is set when the radio is programmed, of which there are 255 possible "keys". Whilst this level of privacy is technically basic encryption, it's nevertheless relatively insecure. Comparable to analogue 'inversion' scrambling, it will prevent the 'casual' listener from hearing anything, but does not guarantee against eavesdropping.

Basic Digital Privacy is built-in to the Kenwood NX-3320E2. Channel Scanning Channel scanning enables the user to monitor a number of channels and respond when a transmission comes through. The scan feature can usually be programmed to include or exclude channels from the scan.

Scanning fewer channels makes the scan faster. A common example is when there is a private channel and community channel programmed. The radio would "scan", or alternate between, both channels.

Normally, they might only use channel 1 for their own private use within the organisation. Then within a few seconds the radio would revert back to it's original channel 1. Digital hybrid radios can usually scan either or both digital and analogue channels simultaneously.

This allows for an extremely flexible scan facility where the user can monitor many channels across both analogue and digital modes. Channel Scanning is built-in to the Kenwood NX-3320E2. TDMA TDMA is a technology that allows several users to share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into different time slots.

With DMR this is two time slots to every 12.5KHz frequency channel allocation. Before DMR every 12.5KHz frequency allocation could carry just one broadcast of RF traffic. Now with DMR 12.5KHz bandwidth allows two voice channels.

See the video below for an explanation on how this works. DMR TDMA is built-in feature to the Kenwood NX-3320E2. Man-down Feature Man Down provides remote monitoring of workers by detecting if their radio is upright, or if the radio is on it's side assumes there may be...
